HELP!

I am thinking about changing my major, dental assisting is great cause everyone has teeth but I have no passion for it. I LOVE kids, I always have, one of the best jobs I have had in my life was at a daycare. I got to play with kids all day, help them do art projects, play outside and learn letters and numbers (I even got one kid who would literally run into the parking lot when his dad was leaving to not cry at all when he was dropped off.... I also got him to eat food too.... anyways). I am thinking about changing my major to Child Development. It is something that really struck me when sitting in lifespan psych and learning about kids and all about pretty much what makes them tick. It is something that I think I would love so much more!

I told this to Tyson and his reaction was "Wow, its like I told you a year ago!" Last year when I would go with him on pickups and deliveries there quite often were children that would be watching and I would play with them and kind of distract them while Tyson was working. One night we were driving back to the warehouse and he told me he thinks I should be going to school for child development instead of dental assisting, I should have listened.....

So what are your thoughts!?!? or suggestions?!?! or advice at all?!?!

Hope you are having a less confusing week than I am.

Interesting! I think you should make a list of pros and cons and consider all of them. But it sounds like it is something that would make you happy and it is a great profession! I think its a great idea!

On the one hand changing your major would suck... but on the other hand what would suck more doing something that is just ok for your career or doing something you love? Before you decide I would research what kind of jobs you would like to do with a child development major.
That is my opinion hope it helps!
